McFLY have been touring worldwide for the past 7 years, from small venues to big arenas. On their 2012 tour they have chosen to do a more 'up close and personal' tour at smaller venues all over the UK. Below are the tour dates McFLY have announced.

Both McFLY and London Fashion Week choose to do a lot of their promotion by using their own website. As the internet is such a popular source, this is the perfect way to advertise as almost everybody has the internet so all target audiences can be reached at the same time. Both of the events have a newsletter which can be signed up to, which sends the consumer information before it reaches the public. For example pre sale tickets are advertised to buy for both events to ensure the customer actually get what they want.
London Fashion Weekend have there own twitter page where customers are able to follow them to find out the recent updates that are happening. This is a way that the public can stay in contact with the event personally. The twitter page is able to offer further promotions and chances to win fast track entry to the event.
The events I have chosen
As a part of my university course I will be tracking the marketing communication process used by two different event promotions. My first post is based on the two events that I have chosen to follow for the next few months, I am going to look at how both events are promoted and compare them with each other.
McFly Tour
One of the events that I have chosen to follow is McFly's 2012 tour, general sale tickets can be bought from the 3rd of December, where as presale tickets can be bought from the 26th November. The tour takes place from the 7th March and the 15th of April. The second event I have chosen is London fashion weekend, this takes part between the 23rd and 26th of February 2012 and is located at Somerset house in London. There are various ticket packages that can be bought depending on what the customer wants, therefore the price tickets vary from £16-£40. http://www.londonfashionweekend.com/
